The exam is designed for adults who wish to begin studies at a German-speaking university, who are already studying, or who work in an academic profession and want to demonstrate their German language proficiency. Duration: 1 day Exam start time: 10:00 a.m. What is the structure of the telc German C1 University exam? The exam consists of a written and an oral part. The written exam lasts 3 hours and 40 minutes (including a 20-minute break). You have 20 minutes of preparation time before the oral exam. The written and oral exams usually take place on the same day. The written exam consists of: • Reading comprehension (90 min.) • Break (20 min.) • Listening comprehension (40 min.) • Written expression (70 min.) After a break, the oral exam follows, usually with one or two other people. You will therefore be examined for 16 minutes in pairs or for 24 minutes in groups of three.
